Frederick Fiber Fest 2025 Mini-Haul

I went to Frederick Fiber Fest for the first time this year! It was a lovely little festival, here’s the obligatory yarn haul 🙂

Frederick Fiber Fest is a smaller fiber festival that takes place in the Spring and Fall each year. I didn’t make it this past fall (I hadn’t really started fiber arts yet!) but really wanted to go this year. It didn’t disappoint!

The event was free, with free parking at the Frederick County Fairgrounds. We got there relatively early (around 10:30AM) and there was ample parking. I’d definitely recommend visiting if you’re a local or already in the area, but it was small enough that I wouldn’t necessarily recommend traveling far specifically for it.

That being said… there was a ton of yarn. It was hard to limit myself – but MD Sheep & Wool is this coming weekend, and I didn’t want to blow my budget this weekend! I’m also thinking… if I thought this was a ton of yarn… this weekend is going to blow my mind

I’m not sure if it’s customary to wear your handmade goods at these festivals or not (I thought it was?) …I didn’t see many people doing so! I had to wear a few things, or course. On my head – the bandana I shared in a previous post – it’s a SW Merino bandana made with the colorway Easter Egg Hunt by Wildfloweryarns. My shawl was made with color 13 of Hobbii’s Frutta yarn, and the pattern is the Hobbii Frutta Shawl. Post coming very soon with a yarn review and better close-up pics!

I present for your viewing pleasure: my fiber fest haul 🙂

Picked these two beautiful hanks up from Sunset Fiber Co.’s discount rack! Spent a few hours this weekend turning them into sun granny squares (hint: pattern review and finished project hopefully coming soon! The yarn was fabulous to work with, the only complaint I have is that I don’t have more of it! lol)

Did a mini mystery bag from Wool & Vinyl and got this cutie! Super excited to use it as an accent for a bigger project. Isn’t it pretty??

June Pryce Fiber Arts – I got a beautiful sparkle skein of this grey color (I believe the colorway Mist?) and non-sparkle white skeins with blue speckles. All DK. This is screaming winter to me, absolutely begging to become something winter-related. Maybe fingerless gloves? Maybe snowflake granny squares? I couldn’t pass them up… just look at them!

Bonus non-fiber fest yarn mention – on our way out of the festival we stopped by the Joann’s in Frederick (at my husband’s suggestion believe it or not). Though closing soon, their yarn section was fully stocked, and I couldn’t pass up these beautiful plum hanks. I don’t think I’ve ever used 5 weight SW Merino, so I’m excited to get to try this sometime soon.

Hope you all are having a fantastic Spring – and keep your eyes peeled for a Maryland Sheep and Wool 2025 recap post and haul, probably…. lol

bye();
